Central Park on Flickr.Have I been to New York?
Yes. Like any world citizen I’d gladly shout Yep. But unlike most of them, I conquered (a bit of) NYC, on my bike.
2011. The first stop of my Interbike trip. But why New York? Interbike has always been on the other coast. The answer would be, 1992 Cannondale Track. I was picking her up.
Spent my day riding from Forest Hill, through Queens. Queensborough bridge. Took a spin around Central Park. Grabbed some hotdogs in front of Guggenheim. Passed MOMA and the fifth. Did some shopvisits to NYC Velo and Chari/Co NY. Overpassed The Grand Central (i will come back), ended up in Harlem. Topped it up with dinnersnack around Time Square.
It was the first time I didn’t bother to get inside anything, I prefered to ride the town. Didn’t have enough time. Definitely I need to get back there, one of my favourite rideable cities in the world.
That’s how I spent September 11, 2011.

When I first began this blog, there really wasn’t a vision or purpose. Hell, to think of it, there probably still isn’t. Regardless of that fact, CYCLEANGELO has always been lucky enough to get love and support from the online cycling community.
Some of you may have been following since the very beginning in 2009, when I first found my love of cycling via the track bike, and the pages of the blog were filled with driveside porn more than anything else. Or maybe you stumbled upon it just randomly and recently through Instagram, as I attempted to document all the miles travelled after discovering gears on a road bike last year.
Either way, I thank all of you for your support. As I spend more time in the saddle, rather than behind the camera lens or the computer, I fall in love with the bicycle more and more, which was the purpose of CYCLEANGELO to begin with.  And even though our interactions won’t be as frequent as I train for my first full year of road racing - one thing I can guarantee is that I will continue to share with you everything I learn, from everyone I meet, from wherever I go along the way. Here’s to 2013!
